JAMMU May 17: Former Minister and Senior National Conference leader Mr Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today visited the residence of Late Mr Rahul Bhat at Durga Nagar here to share the grief of the family & to convey condolences. Accomp-anied by various other leaders of the National Conference, Mr Sadhotra prayed for peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear the irreparable loss. "No words are enough to express our grief and shock over the dastardly and the most barbaric act committed by terrorists", Mr Sadhotra said while interacting with large number of mourners present on the occasion, adding that the party president Dr Farooq Abdullah had aptly described the gruesome incident by saying that every attack on the Pandit brothers is an out and out attack on the very soul of Kashmir. Former Minister said that the martyrdom of Mr Rahul Bhat has shocked and saddened the people across Jammu and Kashmir, which has been braving the brunt of terror for decades. He said there is no place for terrorism in the civilized society and the people want the menace to be wiped out with iron fists.
Mr. Sadhotra called for effective measures to be taken for instilling a sense of security among the people in general and the employees working under the Prime Minister's Package in the Valley in particular. He said the incident is brute reminder of the ground situation despite the tall claims of the BJP about normalcy. The BJP government appears to be ignorant about the situation at ground zero, which speaks volumes about the seriousness in tackling the challenge on the security front, he added. National Conference leader also condemned the brutal use of force on the peaceful and deeply hurt Kashmiri Pandit brethren, including women, who were expressing their resentment over the callousness of the administration with regard to their safety and security.
Other who accompanied Mr Sadhotra are Raghubir Singh Manhas, District President, Rakesh Pahalwan, Dr. Rajinder Sharma, Gurnam Singh, Verma Ji, Umesh Talashi, Ravi Sharma, Shallu Sharma, Ankush Abrol, Radha Krishan Bhat, consoled the father of the martyr and the other bereaved members of the family.
