ADGP Armed convenes meeting of Commandants to chalk out Amarnath yatra preparations

Srinagar, May 18: Addl. Director General of Police, Armed J&K S.J.M Gillani-IPS convened and chaired a meeting of Commandants of AP/ IRP Bns of J&K UT today to chalk out internal arrangements of Armed Police related to forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2022. The Commandants of Kashmir based AP/IR units attended the meeting physically whereas Jammu province-based Comman-dants participated in the meeting through video conference.
While addressing the meeting ADGP said that due to COVID-19 pandemic, Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra could not be conducted for the past two years, hence a large number of pilgrims are expected to visit the Holy Cave this year. Commandants of all Jammu/ Kashmir based Units were directed to keep the earmarked manpower ready and to impart them necessary training for L&O and other duties. The ADGP also stressed on the need of imparting soft skill training to the manpower required for SANJY.
Commandants were also advised to personally visit all the locations/ points of deployment of the manpower of their respective units. They were also briefed to make these visits regularly and to also look after the welfare of the manpower of other units deployed in their jurisdictions.
The ADGP gave significant directions to the Commandants for making necessary preparations for performance of their duty effectively and successfully right from District Kathua to Holy Cave via District Anantnag and District Ganderbal during Yatra.
The ADGP directed that all aspects of the logistic and training preparations should be completed well before the commencement of the pilgrimage. He briefed the Commandants to ensure that requirements related to SANJY duty, not falling within their competence be projected to APHQ by 20th instant positively and other requirements within their own competence as well as within the competency of Zonal IsGP and Range DIsGP be carried out and accomplished accordingly.
The ADGP also emphasized upon achieving Targets/ Goals set for the current year. He directed the officers to speed up their work and ensure that all the targets set for the year-2022 are achieved well in time, as the performance of all officers shall be assessed in light of the targets achieved by them.
Shri Vijay Kumar-IPS IGP AP/ IR Kashmir Zone and Shri Sujit Kumar-IPS DIG CKR present on the occasion also briefed the Commandants about various aspects of duty to be performed during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra - 2022 duty.
