DC Reasi reviews progress of Road projects, land acquisition

REASI, May 19: Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal today chaired a meeting of the collectors Land Acquisition and officers of executing agencies to review the progress of ongoing road projects and the status of the land acquisition for construction of new projects in the district.
The DC took a detailed review of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra expressway, Roads under GREF viz Reasi -Arnas-Mahore, BMG Road and Bharakh-Sira-Rajouri Road, Status of Jammu -Akhnoor Highway falling in the Jurisdiction of District Reasi, besides PWD & PMGSY road projects.
The Executing departments as well as agencies were stressed to furnish the details of the projects & the bottlenecks, if any, to the office of the Deputy Comm-issioner with in a week's time. The DC stressed upon the Collectors Land Acquisition to disburse the compensation amount in the cases where final awards have been issued.
The Executing Agencies were asked to work in coordination with the concerned collector Land acquisition for resolving the issues regarding acquisition of land etc. Babila Rakwal asked for clearing the pendency with regard to the acquisition of land within the shortest possible time. She asked the concerned officers to submit the assessment of the structures, fruit bearing trees/ Non Fruit bearing Trees coming under the alignment of the roads to the concerned collectors.
The DC also directed the officers of BRO to start maintenance of roads under their jurisdictions. The Executive Engineers of PWD were instructed to ensure that all the roads under their jurisdiction are properly maintained.
The rates of the land being acquired by Northern Railway & PMGSY were also approved in the meeting.
The meeting was atten-ded by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Star; ACR, Sanjay Badyal; SDM Tariq Aziz; SDM Katra, Angrez Singh; SDM Mah-ore, Mazahir Hussain; Xen PMGSY Mahore, Satbir Singh; Xen PMGSY Reasi, Ghulam Rasool; OC 110 RCC, ManjuNath OC 58 RCC, Prashant Choudhary; Xen PWD Reasi, Janak Raj beside other district & sectoral officers were present.
