ADC Doda discusses Eid-ul Adha arrangements

DODA, Jul 4: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Doda, Dr Ravi Kumar Bharti today discussed the arrangements for Eid-ul-Adha at a joint meeting of departments and representatives of religious organizations and trade unions held here in the Conference Hall of DC office. Seerat Comm-ittee members, President Beopar Mandal, representatives of mutton and chicken seller Union, officers and other stakeholders attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussion was held regarding arrangements to be put in place by the concerned departments including availability of essentials, Transport arran-gements and cleanliness. The ADC exhorted upon the officers of essential services departments to take measures for providing uninterrupted power and drinking water supply and availability of essential commodities in the market at reasonable prices. He instructed the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council to start cleanliness and sanitation drives around Masjids, streets. He was also directed to make proper arrangement of water and sanitation in the Slaughter House. The Fire and Emergency Services Department was asked to keep fire tenders ready at vulnerable places especially in the town to deal with any eventuality.
Further, directions were issued to the concerned officers to intensify market checking on profiteering, hoarding & black marketing.
The Officers of Muni-cipal Committee, CAPD, Legal Metrology, Food and Drug control and Police Departments to ensure that products are sold strictly in accordance with the notified rates. Moreover the ADC asked the public to buy the products including Mutton, Chicken, fruit, vegetables and other items at already notified rates. He asked the concerned to give wide publicity to the rates already notified for general information of the public.
The ADC also directed the regulating authorities to enforce traffic decongestion plan to avoid traffic jamming in the market places during the Eid days.
