Eid-Ul-Adha arrangements finalised in Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Jul 4: To finalize the necessary arrangements in connection with ensuing Eid-Ul-Adha festival, a meeting of concerned District Officers was held today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Krittika Jyotsna here in the Conference Hall of DC Office Complex.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Dr Vinod Kumar; Additional Deputy Com-missioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; Assistant Com-missioner Revenue, Rafiq Ahmed Jaral and other District Officers attended the meeting. Detailed discussions were held on different arrangements rega-rding the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha, especially the availability of water supply, uninterrupted power supply, adequate supply of rati-on, checking of quality and rates of eatables and proper sanitation in the city.
During the meeting, the DC directed the concerned departments to ensure the availability of water supply, First Aid, Fire tenders, uninterrupted power supply, security arrangements and proper cleanliness in the district. Sheep Animal Husbandry Officer was directed to ensure sufficient availability and inspection of quality of meat during the festival. The Municipal authorities were directed to ensure proper sanitation arrangements in the towns.
To keep a check on the rates and quality of the eatables, the DC constituted a team of officers comprising Assistant Director, Civil Su-pplies & Consumer Aff-airs Department, Tehsildar, Udh-ampur along with the Food Safety Officer, Legal Metro-logy Department, Executive Officer Municipality. The team was asked to conduct frequent visits to the market particularly during the festival days to keep a check on overcharging and ensure that good quality eatables are provided to the people.
The Chief Medical officer was directed to provide Medicare facilities at Eid Gah & Jamia Masjid Udha-mpur during the festival, while District Police autho-rities were asked to deploy adequate police personnel at traffic jam prone places of the town, besides ensuring traffic regulation by the Traffic police. Meanwhile shopkeepers have also been directed to exhibit the rate lists of eatables in their shops in the District.
