Billawaria discusses issues of skill upgradation and self-employment opportunities for youth

JAMMU, Jan 29: Deputy Mayor of Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria chaired a meeting to discuss the issues of skill upgradation and self-employment opp-ortunities for the youth of Jammu city. The meeting was attended by Commi-ssioner, JMC, Secretary, JMC, Committee Members Satpal Karlupia, Kapil Singh Chib & representatives of local trade and industry associations, and NGOs working towards the skill development of the youth.
In his address, Baldev Singh Billawaria, "The youth of Jammu are our most valuable resource and it is our duty to provide them with ample opportunities to hone their skills and achieve self-employment. We must ensure that the youth of our city are provided with the necessary skills and resources to be able to live a better life.”
The meeting discussed several measures to be taken in order to promote skill upgradation and self-employment among the youth of Jammu city. These included setting up of skill development centers, providing access to government schemes and subsidies, and launching awareness drives to educate the youth about the importance of skill development.
Deputy Mayor Jammu, Baldev Singh Billawaria also highlighted the importance of providing financial assistance and resources to help young entrepreneurs to set up their businesses. He praised the efforts of the organisations and associations present at the meeting for their commitment to helping young people become self-employed.
Confederation of All India Traders President Neeraj Anand put their suggestion on skilled upgradation said that the the unemployed youth should be provided basics knowledge of computer courses so that they can perform any kind of work unless and until they don't have the basis knowledge of basics of computer they will not be able to do any kind of job. He said that this will increase the employability of youth and will also help in the growth and development of the country. He also suggested that the government should provide incentives to the youth who are willing to learn new skills and be more employable. This will help in creating more jobs and also in increasing the productivity of Jammu.
The president Skill training institute Puneet Mahajan said Demand and supply based Skill program should be initiated, place and train models should be adopted. Also, the placement portal where demand and supply can be updated the students having and are doing Skill Development programs will have job assurance. The initiative taken by Deputy Mayor Jammu is apprised and also to involve industries from Small shops to big houses can be brought together which will be a rear boost to Skill Development programs.
Founder French Club Arun Kumar said that the youth of Jammu should be provided with training in various fields such as fashion and designing, tailoring, computer applications, etc. at a minimum fee structure to make the training accessible to all. This will help them become self-employed and will also help in their skill upgradation. Moreover, the Deputy Mayor Jammu should also provide incentives to the trainers and the trainees to motivate them to undergo the training. This will help in bringing out the best in them and will also help in creating more job opportunities in the Jammu city.
