Vikram elected President J&K High Court Bar Association

Jammu, Feb 26: Senior Advocate Vikram Sharma has been elected as new president of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu whereas Adv Amit Gupta has been elected as new Vice President, Parvesh Singh Salaria has been elected as new General Secretary, Chetan Misri has been elected as New Joint Secretary and Utkarsh Pathania has been elected as Cashier of Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association.
The election for the posts of office bearers of the Bar Association was held the results were declared late in the night due to time consumed in counting of votes. Total Votes polled 1889 out of 2193. According to Sr. Advocate MK Bhardwaj, former President of the Bar Association, who acted as Returning Officer, Advocate Senior Vikram Sharma secured 792 votes to win the presidential chair. The other contenders for the post namely Advocate Nirmal Kotwal, secured 517 votes, Adv Sachin Gupta secured 415 Votes & Senior Advocate Surinder Kour secured 165 votes respectively.
According to Senior Adv MK Bhardwaj, former President of the Bar Association, who acted as Returning Officer, Adv Amit Gupta secured 798 votesto win the Vice President.
The other contenders for the post namely, Adv Monish Chopra secured 725 Votes and Advocate Jasvinder Singh (Jassi) secured 362 votes respectively.
Advocate Parvesh Singh Salaria elected as general secretary by securing1200 votes. His rival Adv Ajay Bakshi secured 686 votes respectively.
Advocate Chetan Misri emerged as winner for the post of joint secretary by securing 1310 voteswhereas Adv Shiv Dev Thakur secured 570 Votes. Advocate Utkrash Pathania has been elected as cashier of the Bar Association.
He secured 561 votes against his rivals namely Adv Suhail Bharti who secured 465 votes, Adv Gourav Sharma who secured 406 votes and Adv Vikram Singh Sohil 419 who secured votes.
