Yudhvir leads deputation of Bus Stand traders to VC JDA, highlights their issues

JAMMU, Jun 1: Yudhvir Sethi, J&K BJP Vice President urged the government not to shift the traders of Old Bus Stand before initiating development work of Old Bus Stand in Jammu.
In this context, Yudhvir Sethi today led a delegation of Bus Stand traders comprising Ramesh Kumar Tak, President Traders Welfare Association Old Bus Stand Jammu and Madhu Sudan met Vice Chairman of Jam-mu Development Authority and apprised him of the problems being faced by the traders. Notably, the deputation of Bus Stand Traders headed by Ramesh Kumar Tak and Madhu Sudan, Presidents of both the Unions reached the grievances redressal camp organised by Yudhvir Sethi at Pt Prem Nath Dogra Bhawan Kacchi Chawni Jammu and apprised him of the problems being faced the traders of Bus Stand area.
Sethi apprised the VC JDA that near about 160 traders are running their establishments in the premises of Old Bus Stand Jammu having minimum 3 to 4 employees and every vendor has 1 to 2 employees. Since, the Bus Stand Terminal has been shifted to nearby newly constructed Bus Stand but maximum passengers come for purchasing and eating food at Old Bus Stand while the conditions of bus stand is in shambles. He said the government is planning to reconstruct the whole premises which is a welcome step but need of the hour is to rehabilitate the traders. He said that the government is for the people and the government must think about the traders who are running their establishments in the bus stand area so that their livelihood will not be affected at any cost.
The Vice Chairman gave a patient hearing to the deputation and assured the senior BJP leader that the livelihood of these traders will be affected. He said that the Department will take all possible measures in rehabilitating them first then the development work will be carried out.
