JAMMU, Jun 3: A cleanliness drive was recently organised by the LFO-BHF in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Department at Doomi Chowk Near B.Ed College, Akhnoor. The main objective of the drive was to clean up the forested areas and promote the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
The drive was initiated by the members of the LFO-BHF, who were divided into groups and assigned different sections of the forest to clean up. The volunteers picked up litter, garbage and plastic waste, clearing the areas of debris.
"We believe that cleanliness is important not just for our own health but also for the health of the environment", said Mr. Samar, Volunteer of LFO-BHF. "We are grateful to the forest department for their support and hope that our efforts will inspire others to take action as well".
"The cleanliness drive was a success, in which more 30 kg of waste collected and disposed of properly. The volunteers left the forested areas looking significantly cleaner, creating a more pleasant and healthier environment for visitors and wildlife" said Ms. Kamakshi, Volunteer of LFO-BHF.
