GCW Parade organises interactive Session on Mission LIFE

Jammu, Jun 3: NSS Unit GCW Parade. Jammu in collaboration with Eco Club and Science Club organised an interactive Session on Mission LIFE as a run up to World Environment Dav to be celebrated on 5th June, 2023 under the supervision of principal of the College Dr. S.P. Sarswat and under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers of the College Dr Gurpreet Kour, Dr Mohd. Majeed and Dr: Parvaiz Ahmad.
Around 150 participants including NSS Volunteers, student members of Eco Club and Science Club participated in the programme. The programme started with a welcome address by Prof. Anjali Abrol, Convener Science Club and after that the principal of the college gave a brief insight into the importance of Mission LIFE. De Arun Gupta and Dr Latika Bharti, Medical Officers from AYUSH, Govt. of Jammu and Kashmir were the resource persons for the event. Dr. Arun Gupta acquainted the students and faculty members about the Mission LIFE.
He interacted with the audience regarding the healthy lifestyle to be adopted in order to maintain a healthy environment. He also talked at length about the sustainable development agenda of the Govt of India. He underlined the importance of Millets in meeting the overall nutrition of the body. Some of the Chair Yoga Asanas were also performed by the audience under the guidance of Dr: Arun Gupta.
Later Dr Lotika Bharti explained some exercises for the health of eyes and relieving stress. The participants also took pledge on Mission LIFE read by Ms. Latika Bharti. 'The programme ended with a formal Vote of Thanks by Prof. Privadarshini, Convener, Eco Club. The proceedings of the session were carried out by Ms. Swati Chib, NSS Volunteer of the College.
