Missing Bangladesh minor child rescued in Kulgam trafficking case

SRINAGAR, Jun 5: A missing minor child from Bangladesh was rescued in a trafficking case in Kulgam district, officials said on Monday.
The Child Protection Officer (CPO), Integrated Child Protection Services (ICPS) District Kulgam said one child, aged around 13, and resident of Bangladesh, was found from Awantipora Pulwama. The child was apprently trafficked from Bangladesh to Kashmir month before.
The child's custody was taken after the CPO ICPS Kulgam received a call from police post Mirbazar regarding trafficking of children.
"The CPO along with outreach workers reached the spot and received the child," an official spokesman said.
The In-charge police post informed CPO, ICPS Kulgam for immediate necessary action in the matter.
Accordingly, the child was kept in Bait ul Hilal Chawalgam, Kulgam by team ICPS Kulgam till the time his family is traced under proper procedure.
Meanwhile, the whole exercise took place under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Kulgam, Snobar Altaf.
