DB directs Director SVO to file latest status report in Rohsni Scam

Jammu: A Division Bench of State High Court Comprising Justice Virender Singh and Justice Tashi Rabstan today in a Public Interest Litigation regarding alleged nexus politicians, police officers, bureaucrats allegedly in connivance with land mafia in various part of J&K for allegedly land-grabbing in which petitioner has filed an application seeking CBI probe in Roshni Scam, directed Director State Vigilance Commissioner to file latest report in multi-crore Rohsni Scam.
When this PIL came-up for hearing, Division Bench observed that it appears from order dated June 10, 2014 that Director of Vigilance could not complete his investigation as the relevant records were not handed over to him by Deputy Commissioners of Udhampur, Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama Districts and Court issued a specific direction to Deputy Commissioners of these four districts to furnish the complete report within a stipulated period of four weeks.
Counsel for the applicant states that he is not aware as to whether the report has been submitted by Deputy Commissioners of these Districts or not, although in order dated July 14, 2014 also, a specific direction was given to Deputy Commissioners of these Districts.
Upon this Division Bench directed Sr. AAG Gagan Basotra, to get the latest status report from Director of Vigilance and place the same on record before the next date of hearing. In another application seeking compensation of Gole Gujral, AAG HS Siddiqui seeking two weeks' time to place on record the latest status report of the committee so constituted in which the claim of the applicants which was allowed by the Division bench.
