26/11/2014

JAMMU, NOVEMBER 25: Mr. Y.V. Sharma, President, J&K Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Indo-Pak), called on Mr. N.N. Vohra, Governor, here at the Raj Bhavan today. Mr. Sharma apprised the Governor about the to-date status of the LoC trade and discussed with him several important issues relating to the urgent need for the up-gradation of the existing infrastructure, introduction of banking facilities, installation of full body scanners in the Trade Facilitation Centre on both the routes, expansion in the list of tradeable items etc. to strengthen the cross-LoC trade and, side by side, strengthen confidence building. Mr. Sharma urged the Governor to help in a very early decision being taken to depute the now long overdue trade delegation to PoK and secure agreement, interalia, for frequent meetings of traders from both the sides for ensuring the smooth functioning of the trade.
