Director General NCC to visit Jammu

JAMMU, Apr 10: Lt Gen Vinod Vashisht, Director General National Cadet Corps will visit Jammu on a three official visit from 11 April 2017 to 13 April 2017. He is visiting to state for the first time after taking over as DG NCC in Dec 2016. He will visit the NCC Directorate J&K, NCC Group HQ Jammu, NCC units located in Jammu, NCC Camping Ground Nagrota and also Sainik School Nagrota.
The General Officer will also address NCC Cadets at Convention Centre at Canal Road, Sainik School Nagrota and Army Public School, Satwari Cantonment.
The General Officer is an alumni of National Defence Academy and was commissioned in to the Regiment of Artillery on 09 Jun 1979. In his military career he has attended various courses of prestige to include Long Gunnery Staff Course, Defence Services Staff College, Higher Command Course and National Defence College. Besides, he has attended IAS Professional Course Phase II (LBSNAA, Mussoorie) and Emergency Manage ment Course at Melbo urne, Australia. The General Officer commanded a Field Regiment, Artillery Brigade, Artillery Centre Nasik and an Artillery Division. He has held the appointment of Comm andant, Officer Training Academy Gaya prior to the current assignment. Among the other assignments tenanted by the officer are staff in Directorate General of Military Operations, Operat ional Logistics, MS Branch, Colonel General Staff of an Armoured Division, Secretary Chiefs of Staff Committee and Additional Director General in Military Training Directorate.
He also held the appointment of Additional Military Secretary (A). In addition, he has been an Instructor at School of Artillery and a part of Indian Army Training Team at Botswana (Africa). Earlier the General Officer visited NCC Group HQ Srinagar and NCC unit of Kashmir area from 09 April to 11 April 2017.
