GDC RS Pura celebrates National Education Day

JAMMU, Nov 11: Department of Education, Govt. Degree College R.S. Pura celebrated National Education Day-2022 under the guidance of worthy Principal of the college Prof. Sunil Uppal and supervision of Prof. Swati, HOD Education. The National Education Day is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, the first Education Minister of India.
This day is celebrated to acknowledge and honour Maulana Azad's contribution to the country's education system. The theme for National Education Day 2022 is "Changing Course, Transforming Education".
This theme indicates that there is need of reforming the education system and make it adoptable to the current times.
A poster making competition was organized among the students of semester-I. About 30 students participated in the event.
Students made beautiful posters on the theme. The first position was shared by Anjali Mehra and Udita Singh, second position was bagged by Neetu Kumari and third position was secured by Amisha Khajuria. Dr. Preetpal Kour, HOD Zoology was the chief guest of the event. The event was adjudged by Dr. Sarmishta Sharma, HOD Dogri and Dr. Savtanter Kour, HOD History. The whole event was coordinated by Prof. Sandeep Kumari, Department of Education.
