Development is a continuous process: Yogi

LUCKNOW, Mar 18: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday gave credit to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and former MP Lalji Tandon for the development of Lucknow and said that development is a continuous process for which public contribution is very important.
Inaugurating and laying foundation stone of 352 development projects worth Rs 1450 crore along with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh at a ceremony held at Colvin Taluqdars' College, Yogi said that when the government and the public work together, the results are far-reaching.
He appealed the people to be part of the continuous developmental process to realise PM Modi's dream of a developed India by 2047 and establishing India as a superpower.
The CM stressed the importance of good governance and security and said that India has got a new global stature under the leadership of PM Modi with the country getting opportunities to lead organisations like the G-20 and Shanghai Corporation.
He said that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee dreamt of Lucknow's development and even brought some projects to the ground as a local. "Shaheed Path has become the lifeline of Lucknow today because of the combined efforts of Atalji, when he was the PM of the country and Rajnath Singh who was then Minister of Road Transport and Highways," he said.
Yogi said that former MP Lalji Tandon also started efforts to bring Atalji's dreams on the ground. "Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has continued towards making Lucknow a smart city with smart facilities," he said.
He said that just a day before the GIS, many projects including three bridges were gifted. "Today 1,500 projects are being gifted again," he said.
The CM said, "LDA is finding a solution to the biggest traffic problem. The foundation stone was laid for the launch of the first phase of the Green Corridor project. This will solve the traffic problem of Lucknow. There will be a road connecting Kisan Path with Indian Institute of Management (IIM). Along with this the beautification is also being done by connecting both the banks of the river Gomti. When Ashutosh Tandon was working as the Urban Development Minister, he got the DPR prepared. Today the project is getting off the ground," he said.
He said that a Rashtriya Prerna Sthal is going to be constructed in the state capital. "Memories of Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, who denounced the concept of two heads, two symbols and two legislations in the country, had been associated with Lucknow. He is known as a strong proponent of nationalism," he said.
Yogi said that the foundation stone of Rashtriya Prerna Stha) was laid with the grand statue of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, Dr Mukherjee and Lucknow's pride former PM Atalji.
