Amaravati, Aug 24: Today, VIT-AP University organized a program showcasing student achievements in campus placements and higher education. The event underscored the crucial role of the Career Development Centre (CDC) in guiding and training students for placements in leading companies both in India and abroad.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr.G. Viswanathan - Founder & Chancellor, VIT said that the Career Development Centre (CDC) plays a vital role in creating the illustrious placement record of VIT. It ensures smooth functioning of campus placements activities in the campus. The centre also facilitates training activities for the students to ensure that they get placed with national and multinational companies as well. VIT-AP also has a dedicated CDC which works in coherence with VIT centralized career development centre for the enhancement of the student's skills and aptitude.
The VIT Supported Advancement of Rural Students (STARS) program aims to provide quality higher education opportunities to underprivileged rural students. This initiative offers a 100% fee waiver covering academic, hostel, and basic medical expenses, enabling these students to achieve their potential. In this graduating batch, STARS achieved a 100% placement rate at VIT and approximately 90% at VIT-AP, spanning national and multinational companies. These opportunities are expected to uplift the living standards of the families involved.
Dr. V. Samuel Raj Kumar, the Director of the Career Development Centre, highlighted that the VIT centralized CDC remains dedicated in providing students an array of options to secure positions with their preferred companies during both their pre-final and final years of study. By organizing sessions with experienced trainers and VIT alumni, the centre assists students in honing their skills for placement interviews, encompassing both technical and HR dimensions, as well as effectively preparing them for group discussions. The CDC ensures students acquire proficiency in coding and aptitude, enhancing their performance in tests and interviews.
Each year, various recruiting companies visit the campus, initiating the placement process for a diverse array of job opportunities. Numerous students secure placements through Super Dream Offers (more than 10 lakhs PA), while others secure positions through Dream Offers (more than 6 lakhs PA) and Regular Offers.
