Sports Day celebrations culminated at JKPS

JAMMU, Nov 19: Cham-pions are not made in the gyms; champions are made from something they have deep inside them - a desire, a dream, a vision. With this aim and spirit, JK Public School Kunjwani celebrated its Annual Sports Day for the seniors on 19 November 2023 amidst a lot of fun and frolic. The eventful day began with the welcome of the Chief Guest Ms Pushpa Chawala, an eminent educationist. Other dignitaries present were Patron JK Ed-ucational Society, Mr Davi-nder Daluja, Mrs Neelam Daluja; Chairman, Mr Raj Daluja; Director, Ms Shashi Choudhary; Former Dire-ctor Brigadier Sukhdev Sin-gh; Member of manageme-nt, Mr Gautam Daluja; & Pr-incipal Mr. Rajesh Rathore.
After the bouquet presentation to the Chief Guest and welcome of the other esteemed dignitaries, the function began amidst lots of excitement & jubilation. The sound of the school song resonated in the air as the function began. The skating demonstration was appreciated by all. The flag hoisting was followed by the school song. The contingent of various houses marched past the august gathering present amidst cheers. This was followed by the oath taking ceremony by the Sports Captain Saksham Gupta.
The bright stars of JK Public School ran with the flame that is lit to play the games in the true spirit. School Principal, Mr Rajesh Rathore presented the School Annual Report, enumerating the achievements of the students in different events at not only state level but also national and international level. The school orchestra left everyone spell-bound. This was followed by the first round of athletics. The Khelo India and mass drill showcased the dexterity and perfection of the students. It was a mesmerizing and an eye-catching event. In the end, the winners were awarded medals and certificates by Ms Pushpa Chawla. Verve and excitement filled the air as amidst thunderous cheers, the awards were distributed to the award winners.
The Best Athlete - Boy of the Secondary Wing was Saksham Gupta and the Best Athlete-Girl was Vom-ika Sharma. The Best House Trophy was won by Bhagat Singh House, Tagore House secured the second position while Tilak House got the third position.
Arnav Gupta was awa-rded the laptop for academic excellence. Coaches were awarded for their excellent achievements. The finale dance and its foot tapping beats resounded in the air. The demonstration of the Martial Arts kept everyone spell bound. Later achievements of Ms Neharika Raina, the first teacher of school and an excellent science teacher & Mr Avinash Mah-ajan, an exemplary Mathe-matics teacher were also acknowledged. The Chief Guest Madam Chawla in her address to the students laid emphasis on the need to participate. She said that it is not important to win; it is the participation that makes all the difference. She congratulated the team of teachers & the Admin Staff for a successful afternoon.
The parents felt enthr-alled and appreciated the commendable endeavours of the teachers and students. They appreciated the Director of JK Educational Society Ms. Shashi Chaud-hary; Principal Mr. Rajesh Rathore; Vice Principal Ms. Roopinder Kour; School Coordinator Ms. Inderjeet Kour; Primary School Coor-dinator Ms. Silvi & Coor-dinator of Toddlers' World Ms. Shivangani Pandotra for envisioning the programme so well and executed it with finesse and dedication. Head boy Angad Singh presented the vote of thanks. He thanked the august gathering present for supporting the students. He also thanked all those who had directly or indirectly worked to make the event a grand success.
