DB imposes cost of Rs 5000/- on FC Finance Dept

Jammu, Nov 22: In a petition filed by E-Court staff working in High Court and Subordinate Courst in J&K seeking direction to respodents to accord sanction on upgradation of pay scale in favour of above mentioned petitioners (e-Court staff) working in the Hon'ble High Court and subordinate Courts pursuant to the recommendations made by the Hon'ble the Chief Justice of J&K High Court as contained in communication dated 29-09-2020 and reiteratedin communication.
A Division Bench of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh High Court Comprising Justice Atul Sreedharan and Justie Javed Iqbal Wani, impose costs of Rs 5000/- on Financial Commissioner Finance Depart-ment for not comply with the direction.
DB observed that on 25.08.2023, the learned counsel appearing on behalf of respondent no. 2, was directed to place the report of the meeting convened by the Finance Secretary and the Registrar General of the High Court on 23.08.2023. The same has not been done till date. On account of the non-compliance of the order passed by this Court on 25.08.2023, a cost of Rupees 5000/- is being imposed upon respondent no. 2 to be paid from his own pocket and be deposited in the Litigants Welfare Fund before the next date of hearing.
