Kathua Campus (JU) commemorates Constitution Day

Jammu, Nov 25: Kathua Campus, University of Jam-mu celebrated Constitution Day with a fervent tribute to the nation's foundational document. The commemoration was marked by an enlightening lecture delivered by Prof. Arvind Jasr-otia, Rector, Kathua Cam-pus, University of Jammu. He underscored the significance of the Indian Const-itution in shaping the nation's identity and values. The address served as a poignant reminder of the enduring significance of this guiding document in India's democratic journey.
The day's observance culminated in a solemn pledge-taking ceremony wherein faculty members, staff, and students enthusiastically reaffirmed their commitment to the values enshrined in the Constitu-tion by reciting its Prea-mble. The pledge resonated throughout the campus, echoing the spirit of unity, justice, and equality that forms the bedrock of the nation. During the insightful lecture, Prof. Jasrotia emphasized on the historical importance and contemporary relevance of the Constitution, elucidating its Preamble, fundamental principles and the rights it guarantees to every citizen. He underscored the pivotal role played by the Indian Constitution in shaping the nation's democratic framework and upholding the rights of its citizens. Prof. Jasrotia also highlighted the importance of such forums in empowering the academic community with a profound understanding of constitutional principles. He stressed that the celebration served as a platform for the Kathua Campus community to reflect on the constitutional values that unite and guide the nation, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the essence of democracy and equality. Dr. Sourabh Shastri, I/c Head MCA, Kathua Cam-pus extended a warm welcome and said that the Campus stands as a beacon of learning and promoting academic excellence while instilling a sense of civic responsibility and social consciousness among its students. Dr. Nisha Chowdhary coordinated the whole programme and Dr. Shivani Sharma presented the formal vote of thanks.
