Groom casts vote in wedding attire in Ganderbal

SRINAGAR, May 13: During the election to Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency on Monday, a groom in wedding attire cast his vote in Ganderbal district.
Mohammad Ashraf, who was attired in wedding dress, cast his vote at a polling station in Kangan area of Ganderbal district.
The Information and Public Relations department of Ganderbal shared a video on social media which went viral.
Ganderbal district is part of Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency where polling is underway.
Ashraf showed his ink marked finger mixed with 'henna' in the video.
"One should not waste his vote", Ashraf said.
"This is our duty to exercise our right to franchise and choose our representatives, so I'm here to cast my vote," he told reporters.
Ashraf said, "being a voting day today a prize worthy for selecting a candidate who frames policies of development and employment for the people and for the country".
"One should not waste his vote", Ashraf said and added "it an initiative that has been taken by the district administration Ganderbal under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Programme (SVEEP) that I am here to exercise my franchise in favour of a candidate who will for the people and the country".
Ashraf expressed an extra joy and happiness by casting his vote on the day of his wedding.
