10/07/2024
JAMMU, Jul 9: According to reliable sources from Journey Line, the Supreme Court collegium has begun the process of shortlisting candidates for elevation based on seniority, representation from particular states, and the quality of judgments delivered, among other considerations. Chief Justice N. Kotiswar Singh of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, and ‘Son of the Soil’ Chief Justice D. S. Thakur of Telangana, are the leading contenders for elevation to the Supreme Court.
Notably, there is currently no representation from Jammu and Kashmir and the North East in the Supreme Court.
Both Chief Justices Singh and Thakur are highly regarded for their integrity and exceptional judicial acumen. Their potential elevations are anticipated to be significant assets to the Supreme Court.
