Operation Sindoor has emerged as a resounding message to the world: India will no longer tolerate terrorism, and it will pursue those who spill innocent blood with precision, resolve, and an unyielding national will. In a defining moment of strategic and moral clarity, the operation has reaffirmed the Modi government's unambiguous policy - India will act decisively and unilaterally, if needed, to safeguard its sovereignty and citizens. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent remarks, delivered at the centenary celebration of the dialogue between Sree Narayana Guru and Mahatma Gandhi, underscored the spiritual, social, and strategic dimensions of India's response. In invoking the Guru's vision of a strong and discrimination-free India, Modi not only anchored his government's actions in cultural ethos but also framed the fight against terrorism as a moral and civilisational duty.
Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the brutal killing of 26 civilians in Pahalgam on April 22, saw Indian forces target and neutralize terror infrastructure across the Line of Control - in both Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan - within a span of 22 minutes. What was even more significant than the swiftness of the strikes was the use of indigenous, made-in-India weaponry. The message was twofold: India will not depend on others to defend itself, and it now possesses the capability to strike with deadly precision on its own terms. The strike was not just military; it was a diplomatic and geopolitical statement. Without naming Pakistan, the Prime Minister made it clear that the era of strategic restraint has been replaced by strategic resolve. The world, long accustomed to viewing South Asia through the lens of delicate balance, has now seen a new India - one that acts with firmness and clarity when faced with terrorism.
India's evolving defence posture is also rooted in its broader quest for "Aatmanirbharta" - self-reliance. By reducing dependence on foreign arms suppliers and investing in homegrown capabilities, India is not just securing its borders, but also positioning itself as a responsible and resilient global power. The prime minister's confidence that Indian-made weapons will soon gain international recognition is well-founded, given the demonstrated success on the battlefield.
But beyond military might, Operation Sindoor marks a shift in India's counter-terrorism doctrine - from reactive defense to proactive deterrence. The era of enduring provocations, diplomatic protests, and prolonged tolerance of cross-border terrorism is over. The Indian state is now guided by a new resolve: to act first, fast, and decisively. In an international order where terrorism remains one of the gravest threats to peace, India's stance should be seen not as escalation, but as leadership. Operation Sindoor has made it clear - India will not allow its civilians to be targeted with impunity, and it will use all instruments of state power to prevent such tragedies.
The global community must now recognize and support India's fight, which is not only national but part of a larger battle for global stability and peace. The world cannot afford double standards when it comes to terror. In the words of Prime Minister Modi, "No hideout is safe for terrorists who spill the blood of Indians." Operation Sindoor is not just a military success - it is a strategic doctrine, a political declaration, and a moral assertion that terrorism has no place in a just and peaceful world.
