Police cracks Simbal Camp murder case, arrests two accused

JAMMU, Oct 13: In a swift breakthrough, Jammu Police have arrested two key accused in connection with a brutal murder that took place in the Simbal Camp area of Miran Sahib, on the outskirts of the city.
According to the police, accused Tanveer Singh alias Kalu and Bavneet Singh alias Bubby, were apprehended within hours of the incident, showcasing the department's commitment to swift justice and public safety.
The case was registered on October 9 at Police Station Miran Sahib, based on a complaint lodged by Harbhajan Kour, wife of the deceased Narinder Singh, a resident of Simbal Camp. In her complaint, she alleged that her husband was grievously assaulted by the accused duo and their family members.
Narinder Singh was rushed to GMC Jammu for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. Following the confirmation of his death, police added Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), pertaining to murder, to the case. After medico-legal formalities, the body was handed over to the family for final rites.
A police team, led by Inspector Azad Ahmed, Station House Officer of Miran Sahib Police Station, launched a prompt and coordinated manhunt under the supervision of SDPO R.S. Pura Gurmeet Singh, SP Headquarters Irshad H Rather, and SSP Jammu Joginder Singh.
The team developed multiple leads, raided several hideouts in Jammu and surrounding districts, and gathered actionable intelligence. Acting on credible inputs, the police successfully traced and arrested the two accused, who had fled to Punjab after committing the crime.
The arrested individuals are currently in police custody and are being interrogated. Police also confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and efforts are being made to identify and apprehend other accomplices, including family members who may have aided in the crime.
Jammu Police have reiterated their zero-tolerance stance on violent crime and assured the public of their unwavering vigilance and swift action to uphold law and order.
