UNA, Apr 15: Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will interact with the district party presidents of Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir during a training camp that will be held in Kangra from April 21 to April 30. He will infuse new energy into the party workers, said Vinay Kumar, HP Congress party chief.
Talking to the media here Tuesday evening, he said that, with the aim of strengthening the organisation, Block Congress Presidents will soon be appointed across the state. Following this, Congress executive committees will be constituted at the district level.
Vinay Kumar affirmed that the Congress party is fully prepared for the elections to Panchayati Raj institutions and municipal corporations. A comprehensive framework has been devised for this purpose. He further informed that a committee would be constituted to authorise Congress candidates for the District Council and Municipal Corporation elections. Party workers are instructed to extend their support exclusively to these authorised candidates.
Kumar termed these elections as the "semifinals." He noted that, in the coming year, the Congress party would embark on preparations for the Assembly elections. He said that the objective is to strengthen the Congress party and bring a Congress government back to power in the state.
Taking a dig at the BJP, Vinay Kumar asserted that the Congress party does not engage in malicious propaganda; instead, it promotes its policies and developmental agenda. He claimed that the BJP is fragmented into various factions, whereas the Congress remains free of any factionalism. He emphasised that there is complete synergy between the government and the party organisation, and that they would move forward by taking everyone along.
Vinay Kumar lauded the budget presented by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, noting that it prioritises rural areas, farmers, and horticulturists. He highlighted that the Congress has already fulfilled six of its guarantees, and the remaining four guarantees will also be implemented before the government completes its tenure.
