HC orders summer Darbar Move from Jammu to Srinagar, sets April 30 closure

Jammu, Apr 18: The High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh has announced the ann-ual Darbar Move for the Summer Season-2026,
directing that its main wing at Jammu shall close on April 30 after office hours and reopen at Srinagar on May 4 in the forenoon. According to an official order, the arrangement will also apply to the offices of the Principal Secretary to the Chief Justice, Registrar Vigilance, Director of the J&K Judicial Academy, Registrar Rules, Registrar Computer (IT) and the Central Project Coordinator (CPC) for e-Courts. As per Order No. 544 of 2026/RG/NG-103(I) dated April 16, 2026, Special Move Travelling Allowance (T.A.) at a uniform rate of Rs 25,000 per move employee has been sanctioned. However, the benefit will not be admissible to employees who fail to move before or within the stipulated date.
The High Court has directed the Registrar Judicial of the Srinagar wing to ensure that courtrooms, chambers and registry offices are fully functional ahead of the reopening on May 4. It has also instructed that telephone and communication facilities be restored in time. Copies of the order have been circulated to judicial officers, district courts, bar associations and other concerned authorities across Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh for compliance and necessary action.
