Two school teachers killed after truck hits bike near toll plaza in UP’s Bareilly

Bareilly (UP), May 15: Two school teachers were killed after a speeding truck hit their motorcycle near the Faridpur toll plaza on the Bareilly-Shahjahanpur highway on Friday morning, police said.
The victims, P K Yadav and Pramod Yadav, were employed at a primary school in Longpur village under Faridpur block and were on their way for examination duty when the accident occurred, they said. According to eyewitnesses, the truck rammed into the motorcycle from behind near the toll plaza, throwing both men onto the road before running them over. They died on the spot, police said.
Faridpur police station in-charge Radhey Shyam said police rushed to the scene after receiving information about the accident and sent the bodies for post-mortem examination.The truck driver fled the spot with the vehicle, he said, adding that CCTV camera footage from the toll plaza and nearby areas was being scanned to identify the truck and arrest the driver.
