SKUAST-Jammu holds anti-drug awareness rally under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan

Jammu, May 18: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) organised a large-scale anti-drug awareness rally under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, aimed at spreading awareness against substance abuse and promoting a drug-free society.
The rally, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. B.N. Tripathi, commenced from Langrial village and concluded at Baspur village in R.S. Pura, witnessing participation from students, faculty members, farmers, village residents and officials from various departments.
Addressing participants, Prof. Tripathi said the initiative aligns with the UT administration's campaign against drug abuse and highlighted the role of educational institutions in creating awareness and shaping responsible youth. He reiterated SKUAST-Jammu's commitment towards outreach and community engagement programmes to support efforts aimed at eradicating drug addiction.
The event was coordinated by Dr Amrish Vaid, Director Extension; Dr Sudhakar Dwivedi, Director Students Welfare; and Dr Punit Choudhary, Chief Scientist and Head, KVK Jammu.
Senior university officials participating in the rally included Dr S.K. Gupta, Director Research; Dr Sanjay Khar, Director Planning & Monitoring and Director Education; Dr Anil Kumar, Registrar-cum-Dean, Faculty of Agriculture; Dr Sushil Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering; Dr M.S. Bhadwal, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry; Dr J.S. Soodan, Dean, Faculty of Dairy Technology; Dr Vikas Tandon, Dean, Faculty of Horticulture & Forestry; Er. Kewal Raina, Estates Officer; and Dr Sanjay Guleria, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences.
