SC Collegium clears appointments to four High Courts

NEW DELHI, Jun 3: The Supreme Court Collegium has approved a series of judicial appointments to the High Courts of Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. The decisions were taken at the Collegium meeting held on June 2.
The Collegium approved the appointment of advocate Amit Lahoti as a judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.
It also cleared the appointment of Additional Judges Justice Harmeet Singh Grewal and Justice Deepinder Singh Nalwa as Permanent Judges of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
For the Himachal Pradesh High Court, the Collegium approved the elevation of judicial officers Chirag Bhanu Singh, Bhupesh Sharma and Yogesh Jaswal as judges.
In Karnataka, the Collegium approved the appointment of six advocates as judges of the High Court. They are Raghavendra Seetharam Srivatsa, Hema Kulkarni, Subramanya Rangarao, Thadagavadi Prakash Vivekananda, Bakkeswara Pramod and Hombe Gowda Shanthi Bhushan.
The recommendations will now be forwarded to the Union Government for further processing and issuance of warrants of appointment.
