J&K approves Rs 15.99 crore water supply scheme for Watergam

Srinagar, Jun 10: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has approved a water supply scheme worth Rs 15.99 crore for Watergam town in Bara-mulla district under the Capex Budget 2026-27.
The project aims to strengthen drinking water infrastructure in the town and improve access to safe and reliable potable water for residents.
According to officials, the scheme will augment the existing water supply network, address the increasing demand for drinking water and improve service delivery in the area. The project is expected to benefit a large population in Watergam by ensuring a more sustainable and efficient water supply system.
Officials said the approval reflects the government's focus on upgrading essential public infrastructure and expanding access to basic services across Jammu and Kashmir. The scheme is also expected to contribute to the socio-economic development of the area by improving the quality of life of residents through better water supply facilities.
