MLA lays foundation stone for Rs. 3.73 crore civic works in Arnia

JAMMU, Jul 16: BJP MLA from Bishnah, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bhagat, on Thursday laid the foundation stone for a series of infrastructure development works worth Rs. 3.73 crore in Arnia Municipality under the SASCI scheme.
According to officials, the projects have a technical sanction of Rs. 372.84 lakh, while Rs. 274.80 lakh has been allocated for their execution. The works include construction of roads, lanes, drains, culverts, nallahs, protection and retaining walls, installation of street lights and other civic infrastructure at various locations in the municipality.
Addressing a public gathering, Dr. Bhagat said the projects would improve civic amenities and strengthen urban infrastructure in Arnia. He said the government was committed to ensuring balanced development in both urban and rural areas.
The MLA highlighted various developmental initiatives undertaken in the Bishnah constituency, including the establishment of a Kendriya Vidyalaya, development of K-12 schools, upgradation of sports infrastructure, strengthening of healthcare facilities and establishment of a degree college.
He urged the executing agencies to complete the sanctioned works within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining quality and transparency.
The function was attended by Director, Urban Local Bodies, Kapil Sharma, Tehsildar Arnia Amandeep Singh, Executive Officer Arnia, Assistant Executive Engineer (R&B), Girdhar Gopal, Abhishek Jamwal, Surjeet Singh and other public representatives, officials and local residents.
