Police attach property worth Rs. 12.30 lakh of alleged drug peddler in Rajouri

JAMMU, Jul 17: Rajouri Police on Friday attached an immovable property worth approximately Rs. 12.30 lakh belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Nowshera under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
The action was taken by Police Station Nowshera under Section 68F(2) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 178/2024 registered under Sections 8/21/22 /27-A/29 of the NDPS Act and Sections 111 and 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police identified the accused as Ashok Kumar, son of Roop Lal, a resident of Sehar in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri district. The attached property comprises a single-storey residential house along with a 10-marla plot at Nonial, Nowshera.
According to police, the property was found to have been acquired through the alleged proceeds of illicit drug trafficking. Following the attachment, the property cannot be sold, transferred or otherwise alienated without prior permission from the competent authority.
