JAMMU, Jul 27: BJP Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary (Organ-isation) Ashok Koul on Sunday reviewed preparations for the celebration of the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas, Guru Purnima (Maharishi Ved Vyas Jayanti) and the nationwide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign at a meeting of the party's Jammu South district unit. Addressing the meeting, Koul said the programmes were not merely ceremonial events but opportunities to spread the messages of social harmony, equality, spirituality and patriotism.
He said Sant Guru Ravidas dedicated his life to eliminating social discrimination and promoting equality, while Maharishi Ved Vyas laid the foundation of India's spiritual and cultural heritage. Koul urged party workers to ensure maximum public participation and make the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign a success by encouraging every household to hoist the national flag.
Dr Narinder Singh said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently worked to honour India's saints, sages and national icons while preserving the country's cultural heritage. He urged party workers to connect with the youth and familiarise them with the teachings of Guru Ravidas and Maharishi Ved Vyas.
Billawaria stressed the need for effective planning and organisational coordination to ensure the smooth conduct of the programmes, while Reema Padha called upon party workers, especially women activists, to actively participate in the events and promote the messages of social harmony and national unity.
Naresh Singh assured the party leadership that the Jammu South district unit was fully prepared to organise the programmes in a disciplined manner and ensure maximum public participation, according to a party statement.
