Ashok Koul reviews preparations for Samrasta Yatra, Sant Sampark Abhiyaan

JAMMU, Jul 29: BJP Jammu and Kashmir General Secretary (Organisation) Ashok Koul on Wednesday chaired a meeting at the party headquarters here to review preparations for the Samrasta Yatra and Sant Sampark Abhiyaan, being organised to commemorate the 650th birth anniversary of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj.
The meeting was attended by BJP J&K General Secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria and Gopal Mahajan, MLAs Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, Prof. Gharu Ram, Ch. Vikram Randhawa and Rajiv Bhagat, besides senior party leaders and organisational functionaries.
Reviewing district-wise preparations, Koul said the programmes were aimed at spreading the message of equality, social harmony, justice and human dignity preached by Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj. He directed party workers to ensure that the campaign reaches every district, mandal, ward, booth and village across Jammu and Kashmir.
He urged party leaders to engage with saints, social organisations, intellectuals and members of all communities to strengthen social harmony and unity.
Koul said the BJP was committed to taking the teachings of great saints to the grassroots while working towards an inclusive and empowered society.
Baldev Singh Billawaria, convenor of the Shree Guru Ravidas Samrasta Abhiyaan, said detailed arrangements had been made for the successful implementation of the programmes across the Union Territory and expressed confidence that they would receive enthusiastic public participation.
Gopal Mahajan stressed the need for organisational coordination and called upon party functionaries to work collectively to make the programmes effective at the grassroots level.
Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal said the teachings of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Maharaj continue to inspire society to rise above discrimination and promote equality and brotherhood.
He appealed to party workers to actively participate in the campaign and ensure that the saint's message reaches every household.
