DySP, constable injured in road accident in Awantipora

SRINAGAR, Aug 10: A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and a constable were injured after the tyre of their bulletproof vehicle allegedly burst while they were travelling in Awantipora sub-district of south Kashmir on Monday, officials said.
The DSP, posted with the District Armed Reserve (DAR) Awantipora, was initially brought to PHC Awantipora in an injured condition and was later referred to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, for specialised treatment.
According to officials, the tyre of the bulletproof departmental vehicle burst near a shrine, following which the DSP fell from the moving vehicle and sustained an injury to his right shoulder.
Doctors at SMHS Hospital diagnosed him with a dislocation of the right shoulder. He was subsequently shifted to the Bone and Joint Hospital, Barzulla, Srinagar, for further treatment. His condition was stated to be stable.
A police constable was also injured in the incident and brought to SMHS Hospital. His condition was also stated to be stable.
