LG Sinha meets PM Modi; briefs on security scenario, developmental roadmaps

NEW DELHI, Aug 22: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here and briefed him on the prevailing security scenario, administrative affairs, and progress of various ongoing developmental projects in the Union Territory.
During the high-level meeting held at the Prime Minister's official residence, the Lieutenant Governor presented a comprehensive update on the law-and-order situation, with a specific focus on counter-infiltration strategies and the status of anti-terror operations in the region.
According to officials, Sinha also updated the Prime Minister on the smooth implementation of welfare schemes and the progress of critical infrastructure projects aimed at boosting local employment and economic growth.
"Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi," the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) posted on X, along with a photograph of the meeting.
As part of the administrative briefing, the Lieutenant Governor presented the Prime Minister with a copy of the 'Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan - 100 Days Campaign' coffee table book. Curated and published by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) J&K, the publication documents the administration's localized strategies, enforcement outcomes, and public awareness campaigns targeting drug abuse across the Union Territory.
The detailed review also encompassed the logistical execution and safety infrastructure deployed for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra pilgrimage, ensuring seamless management before its scheduled conclusion later this month.
The meeting gains significance as the Union Territory continues to push for systemic developmental shifts, enhanced border grid coordination, and structural governance reforms aimed at reinforcing long-term regional stability.
