Police arrests hardcore criminal, associate with 41 grams heroin-like substance

JAMMU, Sep 2: Jammu Police arrested a suspected hardcore criminal and his associate and recovered 41 grams of heroin-like substance and a sharp-edged weapon in Miran Sahib, officials said.
The arrests were made in connection with FIR No. 138/2026 registered at Police Station Miran Sahib under Sections 8/21/22/29/60 of the NDPS Act and Section 4/25 of the Arms Act.
The accused have been identified as Abdul Majeed alias Babal, son of Mohd Haneef, a resident of Dak Banglow, Marallian, Miran Sahib, and Barinder Singh alias Binny Jatt, son of Avtar Singh, a resident of Moga, Punjab, presently residing at Narwal, Jammu.
Police said 21 grams of heroin-like substance and a sharp-edged weapon (toka) were recovered from Abdul Majeed, while another 20 grams of heroin-like substance was recovered from Barinder Singh.
According to police, Abdul Majeed is a hardcore criminal and is involved in more than 20 FIRs, including multiple cases registered under the NDPS Act.
Police said the arrests and recoveries were part of its ongoing drive against narcotics and criminal activities. Further investigation into the case is underway.
