Govt approves Rs 49.34 cr parking projects in Jammu

JAMMU, Sep 12: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has accorded administrative approval for two major parking infrastructure projects in Jammu at an estimated cost of Rs 49.34 crore, aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving urban infrastru-cture.
The approved projects include a parking-cum-commercial complex at Parade and a multilevel car parking facility at SMGS Hospital, Jammu.
The projects are intended to provide modern and organised parking facilities at key locations and help decongest busy areas while improving traffic management.
The government said the facilities would also enable more efficient utilisation of available urban space and support planned and sustainable urban development.
The new parking infrastructure is expected to benefit commuters, visitors and residents, particularly in areas witnessing heavy vehicular movement and parking pressure.
