IIM Jammu launches Nurturing Future Leadership Programme under MMTTP

Jammu, Sep 14: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu on Monday commenced the Nurturing Future Leadership Programme (Batch-22) under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP) of the Ministry of Education.
The five-day programme, being held at the MDP Centre of IIM Jammu from September 14 to 18, aims to strengthen leadership capabilities and professional competencies of educators while equipping them with contemporary perspectives relevant to leadership in the higher education sector.
Prof Jabir Ali, Dean, Faculty and Research, IIM Jammu, emphasised the need for academia to continuously evolve in response to a rapidly changing world and play a transformative role in leadership, institution building and knowledge creation.
Reflecting on IIM Jammu's 10-year journey, Ali highlighted the institute's achievement of two international accreditations and its sustained engagement with the Jammu and Kashmir government as significant milestones in institutional growth, experiential learning and peer-driven knowledge exchange.
He said such programmes provide institutions an opportunity to share experiences and best practices and collectively contribute to the advancement of management education.
Prof Prashant Mishra, Chairperson, Executive Education and Consultancy, IIM Jammu, highlighted the role of executive education and consultancy in bridging industry and academia.
He outlined the institute's training and capacity-building initiatives and stressed the value of bringing experiences from different sectors into a common learning environment.
The inaugural ceremony began with the lighting of the inaugural lamp. Dr Kapil Gumte, Programme Director, said the role of teachers was increasingly evolving towards leadership responsibilities.
He said the five-day programme, featuring sessions by experts, was designed to create leadership pathways for educators and strengthen their ability to lead, reflect and contribute to institutional development.
The inaugural ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Jaganth, Programme Director, followed by the National Song and National Anthem and a group photograph.
