Man injured in firing in Samba

Jammu, Sep 24: A man was injured in a firing incident near a tea stall in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, with police filing a case and launching a probe, officials said on Thursday.
The incident took place around 11.45 pm on Wednesday in the Tarore area of Bari Brahmana, when two to three rounds were allegedly fired by a person near a tea stall following a heated argument over a past issue, they said. The firing hit the 30-year-old man in the leg, officials said.
"A firing incident took place last night at Tarore on the highway, following a heated argument over a past issue (between two persons). One person sustained a gunshot injury to the leg. Cognisance of the matter has been taken. FIR registered at Police Station Bari Brahmana. Efforts are underway to nab the culprits," a police spokesman said.
The injured was identified as Vishal Singh alias Vishu, son of Narinder Singh, a resident of Rahya in the Vijaypur area of Samba district.
He was shifted to AIIMS Vijaypur for treatment, the officials said. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
