IIT Jammu confers 420 degrees at 7th convocation

Jammu, Sep 26: The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu held its 7th Convocation on Saturday, with 420 degrees conferred upon graduating students across undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes.
The degrees included 209 B.Tech, 124 M.Tech, 23 M.Sc. and 64 Ph.D. degrees, marking another milestone in the institute's academic and research journey.
Dr. Shankar M. Venugopal, Vice President, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Mahindra Research Valley, was the chief guest, while Dr. Amitabh Ranjan, Vice Chairman, Pan IIT Alumni India, was the guest of honour.
Addressing the graduating students, Dr. Venugopal encouraged them to embrace opportunities emerging from rapid advances in technology and innovation.
He urged the graduates to remain connected with their alma mater and contribute to the growth of IIT Jammu as mentors, collaborators and ambassadors.
He also encouraged the students to value the experiences and relationships developed during their time at the institute and highlighted India's potential to convert challenges into opportunities through innovation, determination and collective effort.
Dr. Amitabh Ranjan congratulated the graduating students and emphasised the importance of remaining connected with the IIT ecosystem and contributing to the wider community. He urged them to carry forward the values, knowledge and spirit of excellence cultivated at IIT Jammu.
Prof. Manoj Singh Gaur, Director, IIT Jammu, congratulated the graduating class and emphasised the importance of curiosity, resilience and purpose in building meaningful careers and lives.
He encouraged the graduates to pursue lifelong learning, create value through their work and ensure that their knowledge and innovations contribute to society. He also urged them to remain grounded, pursue new opportunities with courage and maintain the friendships and relationships developed during their academic journey.
