Maharaja Hari Singh’s 131st birth anniversary celebrated in Jammu

JAMMU, Sep 28: The 131st birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh was celebrated with traditional fervour and respect at Sainik Colony, Jammu, by the Maharaja Hari Singh Vichar Manch, Jammu and Deep Mala.
The programme was organised in accordance with Vedic traditions and witnessed the participation of people from different sections of society, including advocates, defence personnel, doctors, engineers, social activists and members of the local community.
The programme was convened by B.S. Jamwal, Advocate and Chairman of the Maharaja Hari Singh Vichar Manch and Member of the International Council of Jurists, London. Sanjeev Manmotra, Vice Chairman, Galaxy College, Parkash Singh Jamwal, General Secretary and social activist, Devinder Nath Sharma, Organiser, and Kulbeer Singh Sambyal, President, Ram Mandir, Sainik Colony, were among those associated with the programme.
Kali Dass, Himanchal Singh Salathia, Gurvinder Singh, Satish Sharma, Santosh Sharma, Sukh Dev Singh Choudhary, Dr K.R. Sharma, Y.S. Jamwal and Balram Singh Slathia, besides several other participants, were also present.
As part of the celebrations, participants paid floral tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh. A Deep Mala was also organised, with lamps being lit as a mark of respect and remembrance.
Speakers on the occasion recalled the social and administrative reforms undertaken during Maharaja Hari Singh's reign and highlighted his contribution to institution-building and public welfare. They particularly referred to his role in the development of judicial institutions in the former State of Jammu and Kashmir and his participation in the Round Table Conference in London.
The speakers also recalled his emphasis on justice and public duty, quoting his well-known expression, "I have no religion but justice is my religion."
