BHUBANESWAR, Oct 10: RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday called upon volunteers of the organisation to work with dedication to make the country self-reliant and disseminate the message of peace to the entire world.
On a two-day visit to the state, he said the RSS has completed 100 years. "But we should not be complacent about it," he said.
"Bharat needs to become enriched spiritually, culturally, socially and also economically to guide the world and spread peace around the globe. RSS volunteers must work with devotion to ensure that Bharat Mata becomes self-reliant," he said.
Bhagat suggested that RSS volunteers adopt discipline, truth and commitment as part of life in order to make India a developed nation.
Earlier, Bhagwat reached Jharsuguda airport and went to Sambalpur by road to interact with the volunteers and infuse confidence in them, an RSS functionary said.
The RSS was founded on September 27, 1925, by Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur.
On Sunday, Bhagwat is scheduled review the organisational activities of east and western regions of Odisha, said Sumant Kumar Panda, the publicity head of RSS (East).
