PSPS GCW Gandhinagar NCC cadets observe World Mental Health Day

JAMMU, Oct 11: NCC cadets of 8 J&K Girls Battalion NCC (A Coy), PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhinagar, Jammu, observed World Mental Health Day by sharing awareness messages on social media to highlight the importance of mental well-being and encourage open conversations about mental health.
The initiative aimed to sensitise cadets and the wider community about emotional well-being, challenge misconceptions surrounding mental health and encourage people to seek help without hesitation.
The cadets emphasised that seeking support is a sign of strength and urged people to listen empathetically, extend a helping hand and stand by those experiencing mental health challenges.
Principal Dr Kulvinder Kour appreciated the cadets and their mentor, Lt Suman Bala, for undertaking the digital awareness initiative. She lauded their efforts to promote understanding, empathy and sensitivity towards mental health issues. Through the initiative, the cadets conveyed the message that mental health should be treated as a priority rather than a taboo, calling for collective efforts to eliminate stigma and promote kindness, hope and emotional support in society.
